The Shattered Axis
An army that was never manufactured. Crystalline lattice, frequency resonance, and harvested souls — accumulated from every civilization it has ended.
The escalation inverts at the top. The most dangerous thing the Axis fields makes no sound at all.
Fracture Armada
The Armada travels inside a single protective envelope — from the outside, one immense luminous crystalline comet with every vessel held within it. Keeping that formation coherent is not Galvanaut's work. It belongs to the command caste behind the glass.
Their authority is naval, not metaphysical. They move the fleet, hold formation, and read the transit field. They do not command in the field, and they cannot elevate a Knight.
Echo Drones
The oldest and most depleted of the harvested, often millennia old. Hollow frames beneath semi-translucent crystalline skin, edges shimmering at a low frequency. Weak individually. Horrifying in number.
When destroyed they shatter, and the fragments crawl into walls, streets and buildings to begin becoming cage material.
Resonance Guard
More recently harvested souls that retain residual spark — denser, larger, and far more dangerous. Heavy crystalline construction with strong prismatic refraction and amber, violet and copper light pulsing internally. Movement like a solidified heat mirage.
Every Guard emits its own frequency, and units are tuned against particular targets. In groups they synchronise until reality visibly bends, buildings hum and glass shatters.
The Horde
Beings from conquered and threatened worlds who were slated for harvest and volunteered for Axis service instead. Anatomy varies enormously — humanoid, saurian, avian, massive, attenuated — unified only by the armour tailored to each body and the Axis symbol they carry.
They are the only Axis force that consented, and the only one that remains awake. Intimidation, occupation, perimeter control: bridges, tunnels, financial districts, government sites, transit corridors. Occupation requires judgement, which is why the Axis does not use infantry for it.
Archonic Knights
Not recycled souls. They were elevated by Distorto and carry fragments of Archonic authority. Faceted mirror-glass plating in overlapping scales, violet light running the seams, and a crystalline cloak that dissolves into filament at its edges. Beneath the crescent crest, the open helm holds nothing — no face, no light, no reflection.
Only a few dozen exist across the entire Fracture Armada. Sentinels hold the sky, motionless, watching. Warriors come down into the street. Neither walks into a scene — they arrive, and sound dies around them. Their void faces consume energy attacks outright, and killing one can tear open a hole between spheres.
